The new Oldham Safeguarding Children Partnership, formed under the Children and Social Work Act 2017, commenced operation in September 2019.
The independent chair provides scrutiny and impartiality to the operation of the Partnership and its community of relevant organisations whose vision for Oldham is:
“For everyone to work together to ensure that all children and young people are safe and feel safe within their homes, schools and communities.”
Since January 2018 Henri Giller has provided independent chairmanship of the OSAB. The current three year strategy for the Board (April 2018-March 2021) was developed under the new chair and contains the following vision of the Board members as to the rights of adults in Oldham:
To live safely and not tolerate abuse and neglect
To champion making safeguarding personal
Early identification and prevention of emergent safeguarding issues
Delivering excellent practice as the norm
Sharing information effectively
Ensuring the local public feel confident that adults are protected
The TSCP is the new Partnership arrangement for safeguarding children in Tameside under the Children and Social Work Act 2017.
As independent chair (since January 2019) Henri Giller has had responsibility for co-ordinating the early implementation and adoption of the new arrangements to deliver on the vision of the Partners, namely:
To be kind and compassionate in our working with families
To ensure that the Partnership makes a difference to the lives of children and young people in Tameside
To provide integrity and accountability in our aspirations for children and young people
The MSP is the new Partnership arrangement for safeguarding children and adults in the City of Manchester.
As independent chair (since December 2019) Henri Giller has been responsible for ensuring that the new Partnership structures are effectively implemented and meet the expectations of the key stakeholders across the City
